This is the first part of the course in Autodesk 3ds max 2012, or 3d studio max as it is also called.
Klick Data and I are pleased to bring you an entertaining in-depth look at one of the MOST widely used 3d animation and modelling software today. 3ds max is used in various industries such as architecture, industrial design, motion pictures, games and virtual worlds. What is your goal? This is a broad course, for all of you different users, and therefore we will focus on creating small examples and create a smörgåsbord of different tool that you can combine in any way you want. You will know how to create and modify your 3d objects whoever you are. You will also have learned how to create materials, how to use lights and finally how to render your animation to a movie or to an image. The course is divided into 6 chapters.
In the first chapter, we will take a look at the interface and menus. You will learn how to navigate in the viewports to see your objects from different angles.
In the second chapter, you will learn how to create and edit basic objects and also how to move them around, rotate and scale them.
The third chapter is devoted to different modifiers and how to create geometry from shapes.
The fourth chapter will be dealing with the materials for the objects. We will create a worn marble material for a chess bishop.
The fifth chapter explores the different types of lights and how to add shadows to your renders. You will also learn how to set up lights in your scene to create a pleasing result
In the sixth chapter, you will learn how to render your scene to a file and how to set up cameras. You will also get some tips on how to create fast preview renders while you work.
